From January to March 2026, BVSC Research were commissioned by West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) to conduct community-engaged research on four topic areas. Check out the infographic summaries below to see each area and what was explored:

The project involved the use of various methodologies: community research delivered directly with young people and professionals, focus groups, an online survey and a rapid literature review.
BVSC Research co-ordinated the community research. We trained and supported a group of 16 young people and adults who interviewed people with lived experience of how social harm and issues around safety affect children and young people, across the West Midlands.
This project was delivered on a short timeline, which meant the rapid literature review focused on recent literature that could inform future peer/community research on these topics. Colin Michel and Ariana Markowitz worked specifically on the literature review, and surfaced some relevant, insightful and important findings.
